Danielle + Lance {Tofield Wedding Photographer} {Lions Garden Wedding}

We met Danielle and Lance earlier this year when we shot their winter engagement photos and were super excited to shoot their gorgeous Fall wedding. This was our last wedding of the year & definitely one to remember.

We started the day by photographing the ladies at one of the coolest parlors I’ve ever been to…The Beauty Parlour on Whyte Avenue in Edmonton. This place has so much character and made it easy for us to capture some cool photos of the ladies getting their hair and makeup done. I seriously could have shot at this location ALL day! Next, we headed to the event location at Lions Garden just outside of Lamont. This was our first time shooting at this venue and it was absolutely breathtaking! From the fountains at the outdoor ceremony, to the beautiful scenic countryside, to the amazing wooden barn where the reception was held…we were so excited to shoot at such an amazing venue! The massive wooden barn was recently completed and this was the first year it was utilized. The interior of the barn was beautifully decorated with gorgeous vintage pieces which complemented Danielle’s incredible lace dress and the guys’ slick attire. The huge chandeliers hanging below the gigantic wooden beams in the barn really set this venue apart from the rest. Lisa kept pleading to me that we get married again just so we could have another wedding at this gorgeous location!

Danielle and Lance are such a cool couple and perfectly compliment each other. I absolutely love their style and got especially excited when one of my favorite bands, Volbeat, blasted out of the speakers as the two walked down the aisle as newlyweds…so awesome!

Immediately after we shot the bridal party photos, a massive storm rolled in, leaving us drenched in rain. We weren’t sure how long the storm would last so decided to brave the rain together and keep photographing Danielle and Lance. I’m pretty sure this was the quickest Lisa and I have ever posed/photographed a couple as we scrambled to get as many shots as possible before we were forced to shelter. Danielle and Lance were complete champs as we braved the chilly Fall rain together and within minutes I was completely soaked! We finally all decided to seek shelter from the rain as my hands could no longer grip my water-logged camera (thank goodness for waterproof camera equipment)! Luckily the rain eventually subsided and we headed back out to finish off the bride/groom photos. I’ve been shooting weddings for over 5 years now and this was the first time that we got caught in such a heavy downpour. Nevertheless, I love how these photos turned out and especially love the intimate photos of Danielle and Lance cozying-up in the rain.

After a delicious roasted pig dinner and speeches filled with tears and laughter, Danielle and Lance made a grand first-dance entrance as they walked hand-in-hand through a row of sparklers onto the dance floor…a truly breathtaking moment for everyone! Although this was our last wedding of the season, it was definitely one of the most memorable weddings we’ve had the opportunity to shoot. Thanks for including us in your special day…we had a blast!
